Congratulations to physics majors in the class of 2008!
- Physics and Engineering Science major Christina Johnson ('08) is the recipient of the 2008 George H. Lenz Excellence in Physics award. Christina will enter the graduate mechanical engineering program at the University of Virginia in Fall 2008
- Physics major Jessie Lile ('09) will be employed during Summer 2008 by the Naval Surface Warfare Center in the Strategic & Weapons Control System Department
- Physics major Rachel Gotwalt ('08) conducted research on fractals during Summer 2007 in the Department of Mathematics at Cornell University
- Physics major Rebecca Girten ('09) will conduct radio astronomy research with Dr. Hyman during Summer 2008.
- Physics and Engineering Science major Kaelyn Leake ('09) will be employed during Summer 2008 as an engineering intern at Flo-Serve
- Congratulations to Laura Hanold ('10), she won the Best First Year Physics Student award for 2006-2007
- Physics major Christina Johnson ('08) conducted ozone research during Summer 2007 at the Hydrospheric and Biospheric Sciences Laboratory of NASA's Wallops Flight Facility. Congratulations, Christina!
- Congratulations to retired physics professor and former Dean, Dr. George Lenz on being awarded Emeritus status
- Prof. Hyman received grants from the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and Research Corporation in support of his research, "A Galactic Center Transient Radio Source Monitoring Program."
